Marin Software provides a browser-based, enterprise-class paid search management application for advertisers and agencies. Designed for those who are spending at least £50,000 monthly on paid search, Marin Search Marketer® addresses the workflow, analysis, and optimization needs for large-scale SEM campaigns, saving time and improving financial performance. Over 180 customers collectively manage in excess of £700 million of annual search spend via Marin's application. Customers include University of Phoenix, Neo@Ogilvy, Razorfish, Reply! and ZipRealty. Responsibilities: 
• To work collaboratively with the team, creating innovative solutions to difficult problems faced by a (very) large market.
• Remain flexible, authoring front-end (PHP5, AJAX, CSS) and back-end code (Java, Spring, Hibernate, Axis) as necessary to build products.
• Adopt development methodologies and pride in product ownership, resulting in quality code -- all the while maintaining a fast, iterative pace.

Minimum Requirements: 
Expert knowledge of:
• Object Oriented Programming (Java, C++, C#)
• Relational Databases (database theory and/or OLAP a nice plus)
• Reluctant mastery of front-end scripting languages (PHP, Ruby, Javascript)

Familiarity with:
• Web Services/SOAP (Axis)
• Broker/Peer-based messaging (JMS)
• AJAX libraries (Yahoo UI Framework, Dojo, OpenLaszlo)

• Comfortable working in all environments: Linux (RH/Debian), Max OS/X and Windows.
• Previous experience in search advertising (Google/Overture) a big plus.
• Accurate prediction of your own task completion timelines.
• An innate urgency to complete projects on time and with high quality.
• Open communicator and can jump in (if appropriate) to help other team members.
• Educational background in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Compensation:
Full-time salaried position – compensation dependent on prior experience. Position includes equity participation and comprehensive benefits (healthcare, vision, dental, and commuting).

This is an onsite position at Marin Software’s headquarters in San Francisco’s financial district (2 blocks from BART). Contract-to-hire applicants are OK.
